History and
Background:
I attended my first birth in 1987 and
through the years supported friends and family with labor
assistance, childbirth resources and breastfeeding assistance until
I chose a professional path in late 2003. I believe that
birth is a normal and profound process leading to life-long
memories. My goal is for families to be equipped and
confident for their desired birth journeys. I have
experience with unmedicated and medicated births,
waterbirth, medical inductions, IVF, cesareans and VBAC's in
home, birth center and hospital environments.
I have four sons, three born here in Colorado
Springs. My personal birth experiences are a primary
cesarean after labor and pushing, unmedicated VBAC, second
cesarean after an unmedicated labor and pushing and an
unmedicated natural VBAC2C.
Continuing
education and volunteering in the community are an integral part of
my standards of practice.
