Six Week Group Series - recommended early third trimester

  • Eating for a healthy pregnancy, mom and baby 
  • Exercise and positive movement
  • Common prenatal tests
  • Normal Birth Practices
  • Natural Childbirth and Conscious Relaxation Practice
  • The Importance and Function of Labor
  • Birth Beliefs and Philosophy
  • Common Challenges in Labor
  • Spectrum of Choice in Childbirth
  • Tried and True Comfort Measures and Support Techniques
  • Immediate Postpartum, Initial Breastfeeding and The First Two Weeks
  • Class Reunion after all moms have given birth
  • Free classes to refresh in next pregnancies

This class series is designed to build confidence in the ability of mom and baby, trust in the normalcy of birth, increase knowledge with true information, and practice effective natural childbirth techniques in a fun, interactive and personal atmosphere. Several types of relaxation, visualization, 4 different practice sessions, and a birth movie every class are part of this series. Both hospital and homebirth couples will benefit from this class series. Each participant receives a workbook and additional handouts.

 

For Christian emphasis - additional materials are available upon request.

 

 

Refresher Class - recommended early to mid third trimester

This is a private class, however, up to 3 couples may attend to split the fee.

  • Overview of labor and delivery
  • Review of terms and anatomy
  • Childbirth Choices
  • Communicating with caregiver
  • Comfort measure practice
  • Relaxation and visualization practice
  • Challenges of labor
  • DVD's to watch
  • Previous birth experience discussion and reframing exercises (if desired)
  • Breastfeeding and postpartum review
  • Various homework assignments
  • Participants will receive a workbook and additional handouts.

 

Postpartum Strategies Workshop - second trimester through early newborn

Save yourself from asking this question: "The baby is born, now what?

  • Usual emotional changes
  • Usual physical changes
  • Local support resources
  • Caring for your relationship

 

VBAC Preparedness - recommended late second to early third trimester

This is a private class, however, up to 3 couples may attend to split the fee.

 

Specifically geared for the mom who desires a vaginal birth after cesarean.  For most women this is a safe choice and alternative to a planned repeat cesarean.
